DR. ANGELA COX
Dr. Cox grew up in Mississippi. She knew she wanted to be a Veterinarian when she was 7 years old. She spent her childhood trying to save baby birds, injured rabbits, frogs, lizards and any other animals she encountered. She spent summers and holidays on her Grandfather’s farm where she helped him work his cows and take care of other farm animals including Sheep, Pigs, Goats, Ostriches and Emus.
Dr. Cox went to Mississippi State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science in 1994. After that she continued her education at Mississippi State’s College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.
After graduating from Vet School Dr. Cox practiced in Mississippi for 8 years. She worked in a private practice setting where she treated Small Animals, Birds, Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Reptiles and Fish. She also treated injured and orphaned wildlife including Owls and other Birds of Prey, Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, etc. She served on the Board of Clinton Animal Rescue Association, a local Animal Shelter where she also volunteered her services on a regular basis. In 2006 Dr. Cox and her family moved to Georgia where she continued to work in Private Practice as an Associate Veterinarian and a Relief Veterinarian. In 2015 Dr. Cox purchased an Animal Hospital in Locust Grove, GA. With the help of her husband, Marcus, she operated their Family owned practice for 6 years.
